Book Binge

I'm getting GT books for Christmas. A lot of them are books I grew up with and enjoyed reading. I've started a list. Now I just need to get them.

But I didn't realize how expensive books are! It would just hurt me to pay $8 plus tax for a book that's going to be colored on, torn up, drooled on, eaten and beaten to death. And $8 is on the cheap side. Some books I was looking at are $15!

I guess the library is going to love us. It already does.

I should know that books are expensive. I DID go to college. I paid $80 for a book that I got $35 back for. That's depressing. Petey & I got the same college degree. We should have been smart and shared books. But I guess we were learning HOW to be smart, and not smart just yet. Ha.

But I love the smell and feel of new books. Books that have yet to share it's words, colors and pictures with it's owner. It's a mystery just opening up to the first page. Where am I going? What am I going to do?

Oh LeVar, where are you now?

I just love books. I love to read books (although I don't make time for it) and I love to have books. It's like a new piece of clothing or a new pair of shoes. It's all yours and you do with it what you want. You mold it into what you want it to be.

But again, that costs money. Clothes, shoes & books. Is it important enough to me (or really to GT) to spend the money for it? That's the thousand dollar question. Because I'll spend a thousand dollars on books just for our children.

And one of these days they'll come to me and say "I'm bored."
